Steve Clarke, Evelyn Zemke and Nicola Sansom join MES team
With increasing market demand for Managed Equipment Services (MES) from the NHS, Siemens Healthcare has appointed three new members of staff to continue to strengthen its MES team.
Steve Clarke joins the team to support upcoming projects across the country as business development manager; Evelyn Zemke joins as business support manager; and Nicola Sansom is MES project manager.
Clarke has worked in the healthcare sector for more than 20 years, starting his Siemens career as a service engineer within the X-Ray division and later within the cardiac and angiography team. He also has strong commercial and product knowledge, having worked as a product specialist within technical sales support at Siemens.
“In addition to my technical and service expertise, I look forward to bringing my experience of building works and installations to the role,” he said. “I have an extensive understanding of how equipment provision and management can support hospitals in the drive to become more efficient and look forward to applying this in the context of MES solutions.”
Zemke has previously supported MES projects internationally from Siemens Healthcare’s global headquarters in Germany. With a strong background in business support, she has worked with multiple Siemens healthcare departments including the MES team in South Africa.
“Having already supported MES projects on a global level, I look forward to applying this knowledge on a local and operational level in the UK, helping to deliver new concepts and approaches to MES projects,” she said. “MES is a growing business model focussed on a long-term approach. I look forward to building long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers, and managing their needs into the future,”
Sansom brings considerable expertise in project management to the MES team, having worked in a healthcare environment for more than 15 years and with Siemens for more than 10 years.
Association for Project Management qualified, she is also a PRINCE2 practitioner, a project management methodology widely used in the NHS. The new role will see her work with prospective customers to plan robust implementation of MES projects.
“As MES solutions become increasingly complex and often include building works, setting realistic timeframe expectations and implementing proven processes to reflect changes in workflow is key to success,” she said.
“Having implemented equipment provision into a number of MES sites I look forward to expanding on this and supporting the successful delivery of future MES projects.”
An MES partnership sets out a strategic approach to equipment provision and financial planning, guaranteeing the latest medical equipment, the ongoing maintenance of existing systems and user training for the lifetime of the contract via a fixed annual charge. By ringfencing investment for the life of the contract, all equipment concerns such as replacement and maintenance are taken care of through Siemens, as one point of contact.
